Among 132 Virginia counties with published values, the counties with the highest cancer death rates are Norton city, VA (290.7, 2.03 times the U.S. rate of 143.2), Galax city, VA (269.6, 1.88 times the U.S. rate of 143.2) and Franklin city, VA (254.3, 1.78 times the U.S. rate of 143.2). Values are per 100,000, age-adjusted. 70 of the 132 are significantly above the U.S. rate.
