Among 99 Illinois counties with published values, the counties with the highest lung cancer death rates are Alexander County, IL (79, 2.62 times the U.S. rate of 30.2), Mason County, IL (67.9, 2.25 times the U.S. rate of 30.2) and Ford County, IL (61.5, 2.04 times the U.S. rate of 30.2). Values are per 100,000, age-adjusted. 66 of the 99 are significantly above the U.S. rate.
