Among 55 California counties with published values, the counties with the highest melanoma incidence rates are San Luis Obispo County, CA (60.2, 2.53 times the U.S. rate of 23.8), Marin County, CA (59.6, 2.5 times the U.S. rate of 23.8) and Santa Cruz County, CA (50.3, 2.11 times the U.S. rate of 23.8). Values are per 100,000, age-adjusted. 25 of the 55 are significantly above the U.S. rate.
