Among 55 Illinois counties with published values, the counties with the highest thyroid cancer incidence rates are Washington County, IL (23.8, 1.83 times the U.S. rate of 13), Whiteside County, IL (22.1, 1.7 times the U.S. rate of 13) and Kane County, IL (20.4, 1.57 times the U.S. rate of 13). Values are per 100,000, age-adjusted. 11 of the 55 are significantly above the U.S. rate.
