Among 14 Maine counties with published values, the counties with the highest esophagus cancer incidence rates are Lincoln County, ME (9.6, 2.09 times the U.S. rate of 4.6), Washington County, ME (8.8, 1.91 times the U.S. rate of 4.6) and Knox County, ME (8.5, 1.85 times the U.S. rate of 4.6). Values are per 100,000, age-adjusted. 10 of the 14 are significantly above the U.S. rate.
